NotiSound (“the app”) is a notification-sound personalization tool. This policy explains what the app does with your information. In short: everything stays on your device, and nothing is collected, transmitted, or shared.
What NotiSound accesses
- Notifications (via Notification access). To play the correct custom sound, NotiSound needs to know which app posted a notification. It reads the posting app’s identity on your device only, to decide which sound to play.
- Your sound choices. When you assign a sound to an app, NotiSound stores that mapping (the app’s package name and the sound you picked) in the app’s private local storage on your device.
- Audio files you pick. If you choose your own audio file as a sound, NotiSound keeps a reference so it can play it. The file is not copied or uploaded.
What NotiSound does NOT do
- It does not collect, store, log, upload, or share the content of your notifications.
- It does not send any data to us or to any third party or server.
- It has no analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash-reporting SDKs.
- It has no user accounts and requires no sign-in.
Data sharing
None. No data is transmitted off your device, so there is nothing to share or sell.
Data retention and deletion
Your app→sound mappings live only on your device. You can delete them anytime via the app’s “Revert all changes” action, by removing individual mappings, or by clearing the app’s storage in Android Settings. Uninstalling the app removes all of its local data.
Permissions summary
- Notification access — to detect which app sent a notification (on-device only).
- Foreground service / battery — to keep running so alerts aren’t missed.
- Accessibility service (optional, sideload build only) — used only, on your explicit tap, to turn off a selected app’s own notification sound on its settings screen. It reads no screen content for any other purpose and transmits nothing. The Google Play build does not include this.
Children’s privacy
NotiSound is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone.
